The Movie "Oppenheimer" does a great job of showing the complexity of the man, and of the Manhattan Project. When nuclear weapons end up in the hands of Putin, and the North Koreans, Oppy was right to be tortured by what he had accomplished. Not to mention what was lost with Jean Tatlock.
